Author's PoV:
The car pulled up in front of an hospital. He came out of the car whereas she opened her side of door.
He again carried her in his arms and begin taking her inside the hospital when she shouted "What are you doing? Get me down, I cannot go like this."
He looked at her, "You cannot walk on your own properly. How will you go then?"
"Bu-But everyone is watching us. Get me down. " She said feeling embarassed because everyone on the way were looking at them.
"I don't care about that." He said and kept walking, whereas she was repeatedly yelling at him to get her down on her feet.
As he reached to the receptionist to take details of the appointment and floor number, the receptionist looked at them in a wierd way, being surprised. Seeing which she averted her gaze in embarassment and hid her face on his shoulder. He then took the lift to reach the respective floor, the receptionist informed him.
"You know what? You're such a bastard!" She yelled at him being frustrated, tugging at his shirt's collar. His eyes shifted to her with a glint of amusement in them, and he smirked "And you know what? You look so cute kitten when you're angry."
It made her enraged for a moment, and she finally blurted out the question she'd been holding in since the start of the drive
"You said you feel disgusted by coming close to me, then why are carrying me in your arms?"
As soon as she asked him about this, the lift stopped and he came out with her without giving any response to her question.
He took her to the cabin where her appointment was and made her sit there properly. The staff looked at them curiously and exchanged puzzled glances.
"You have to wait outside. I will call you after check up." She said to him because he was standing there.
"Why? I can also stay here." He said this when doctor said "Please wait outside."
Without questioning, he left from there. He was startled wondering why he was asked to wait outside when it was just a normal check up.
He waited outside the cabin, then after a few mintutes a staff member informed him that she was done with the check up. He strutted in, swept her off her feet and left from there.
They came out of the hospital and he made her sit on the car and said "Wait, I'm coming in five minutes." She nodded to him and he left.
She was peering out the window, when she spotted some children walking home from school, carrying their bagpacks. She got all nostalgic seeing them laughing and enjoying like that, just like she did back in the day when she came home from school.
She waved at them from the car window, and the kids rushed over excitedly. She popped the car door open for them.
"What are your names?" She asked them keenly and they began telling their names one by one to her.
She was chatting with them when she spotted Rian heading towards the car. Panic set in as she wondered if he'd be annoyed by the kids near his car.
He swung open the door, plopped into the driver's seat, and suddenly the excited kids bombarded him with enthusiastic 'hellos'. Upon meeting his eyes, she got prepared to say something when he smiled at the children and responded with 'hello' to them, making her completely surprised.
He didn't seem to be offended by them, infact he looked happy seeing them.
"Do you also like children?" She asked him smilingly to which he keenly replied "Ofcoarse!"
She shut the door of the car as the children left and they headed for the home.
"I didn't mean those words." Hearing him, she gave him a puzzled look, not knowing why he said this suddenly.
"You asked me that why I'm carrying you when i feel disgusted by you. Right?" He asked turning his face towards her. Now she understood what he meant.
"You didn't mean those words! Really?" She asked in a disbelief because it was hard for her to believe him.
"My temper was too high that day and when you came in front of me, i spilled my anger on you for no reason." He explained turning his head back.
"I'm sorry!"
She looked at him bewildered.
"I'm sorry for all those words i said to you. I didn't actually mean it." He said further. His voice was soft and guilt was clearly visible on his face.
She felt a sudden rush of emotion but she could not believe it.
He said 'SORRY'?
She didn't know whether to believe him or not but one thing was clear that she never saw him being so soft with her.
"It's fine. Although i never minded it." She said lowering her gaze, which made him to turn his face towards her.
"Why?"
"Because i know you are a creep since childhood." She said and a chuckle left from her mouth.
The next minutes remained silent, till they reached the home.
As soon she reached inside the house, Ved and Zia asked her about the check up to which she responded that she's completely fine. After that she went to her room.
"What did you think? You will send your so-called trusted man behind my car to keep an eye and I won't know about it?" He asked to his father, as he sat down on the couch.
"That's because I don't trust you." Ved replied sternly.
"You sold a 15 year old girl to a brothel and you're expecting me to trust you?" He asked making him frustrated. He didn't respond and just went to his room without looking at anyone.
Mayra was listening to their conversation secretly. Her eyes welled up remembering that moment because that 14 year old girl was none other than herself.
